This design is charming, right? It is basically an antithesis to the smooth and simple modern design.
With its stone-patterned wall as the backdrop, you can expect the kitchen to look old.
It does not reach the level of vintage just yet, but you can use this in a country house and nobody will bat an eye.
The white colour might stand out from the other things available, but that does not mean the colour itself will ruin the vintage look.
In fact, switching the white into another colour will only change the essence of this design.
No U-shape needed
People told me that a simple kitchen line like this one is not inspiring at all.
Those kinds of people are the kind of people who could not see the beauty within practicality and simplicity.
A sight of this kitchen and the word ‘ease of access’ comes popping out of my mind.
Sliding from the kitchen and into the sink is pretty easy: you just need to walk sideways and you will be done with it.
This classic kitchen cove is the only thing you will ever need
I love this design to the far end of my bones. Not only that this kitchen is my dream kitchen, I would probably turn my kitchen like this if I have the money for it.
I adore the stone arches that lead to the other side of the kitchen and I absolutely love the fact that this kitchen is divided into two sections.
It is like a kitchen one might found dotting stone mansions, classic Mediterranean houses, or a villa by the mountain.
Those three houses are the houses that I am looking to build in the far future.
Sadly, simplicity is shooed away for the sake of beauty. If you are looking for a simple kitchen that you can use for your daily cooking session, stay away from this design and opt for the simpler ones.
All about the vintage
There are so many things that scream vintage in this design, and if you cannot see anything old with it, your eyes might need some adjustments.
Where should I start with this one? The chandelier above is a good start.
You see, in many modern designs, people opt to use normal lamp sconces instead of a chandelier.
The chandelier itself is a testament of how vintage this design is.
This next design will suit a cabin in the woods
Just like the cove design I have mentioned earlier, this one design is more suitable for a certain situation.
You cannot have something like this in an apartment or a condominium because people will see you oddly because of it.
Instead, you can safely use this design in a wooden villa or a cabin in the woods.
This design invokes a feeling of relaxation, a place that you can use to rest after a long haul.
The wooden aesthetic makes it very natural and it will never contrast the nature outside.
Alternative for the cabin in the wood types
If you think the first ‘cabin-in-the-woods’ design is too bright for your liking, you can switch to this second design and nobody will think twice about praising your kitchen.
It does not look rusty, but it does look woody and natural, which is a perfect fit for a house of wood.
This design is a darker and ‘grim’ variation than the design before, but you can be sure that it is still accepting.
Wooden kitchen that is suitable for the suburbs life
I have written about two kitchens that will never be good if you use them outside of nature, but this one right here is a perfect choice if you want to apply a wooden look to your suburban house.
This kitchen is so balanced that you can use this in your retreat or in the suburbs.
The only place where this kitchen cannot work is in a modern apartment complex, but even then a minor alteration can make it good.
Stones never looked so good
Usually, when we are talking about using a stone pattern in a house, we talk about houses that are located not in the middle of a city or in an apartment.
More often than not, stone patterns work in houses where nature is the main player.
Not this one design, though. This design works even in places where stones do not usually work.
In an apartment or in a condominium, a kitchen like this one can be good.
Why not try this greenish vintage design?
The colour green rarely works in a kitchen, but not in this design. If you look at it, it is the colour green that adds to the vintage look that this kitchen got.
Without this olive green, there is no way the kitchen will emit a traditional aura that many old kitchens got.
The kitchen island is a fine addition because it closes the large gap between the two sides of the kitchen.
The vases are optional, but get them if you want to be as traditional as possible.

I like this kitchen because of its size, but the major attraction of this design is the colour.
If you have already decided to use the colour green as the overall theme colour for your house, this kitchen can work in your house if you got the space and the money for it.
Let us get back to the cabin in the woods for a moment
There is something about stones and woods that make them a perfect material for kitchens (which is odd because kitchens are the place where a fire would most likely start).
Is it because of the looks? Is it because stones and woods are two things that are commonly relevant to cooking?

I do not need to tell you that this design got overloaded with woods. While the woods can be too many for some people, I myself think this gives it a bright look. If I have to cook in a place like this, I will surely cook happily.
That is all I can say about the designs. Traditional designs, while they are starting to get even rarer, are basically designs that can invoke a feeling of warmth.
It calls our mind back to a retreat where we do not have to think about our jobs and many other problems that this world has.
